Job Description :

We are seeking an energetic QA/Documentation Engineer to take on an exciting role within our busy team. Reporting to the VP of Research & Development, this role will be a hands-on position that will include a heavy focus on automated testing and DevOps; writing and maintaining test plans and cases; performing functional and system testing; product documentation; and working on the full lifecycle of projects in a fast-paced environment.
The role’s responsibilities vary greatly, but include:

  • Preparing and writing test cases based on requirements
  • Being instrumental in moving application testing towards automation and the DevOps model wherever possible. This may include the writing of execution scripts and/or computer code (primarily C#)
  • Performing and tracking manual testing
  • Conveying unbiased advice/opinions clearly
  • Documenting and communicating test findings
  • Verification of defects and fixes in the testing cycle
  • Responsibly following planned and assigned task lists
  • Assisting in the creation of virtual machines as needed for use in the R&D department
  • Being a liaison between Professional Services/Support and R&D regarding the verification of product defects and fixes
  • Building excellent working relationships with R&D, Professional Services, and Support departments to ensure the highest possible quality
  • Knowledge of the software lifecycle, specifically those areas relating to testing
  • Working knowledge with testing suites such as Microsoft Test Foundation / Visual Studio
  • Experience with the Windows operating system and familiarity with PC hardware and architecture
  • Experience with virtual machines and Hyper-V Manager
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
  • Some knowledge of automated test development, including experience with authoring with any scripting language and/or object oriented development language (C#, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Previous use of bug tracking software – Visual Studio Team System (VSTS), Jira, Fogbugz, Bugzilla, etc.
  • Ability to use version control software – Visual Studio Team System and/or Git
  • Exposure to the Agile/Scrum development process
